According to The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, “grief” is “intense mental anguish; deep remorse, acute sorrow.”
Many people think that grief only applies when someone close to you has died, but it can also apply when a close friend moves away, when a boyfriend/girlfriend breaks up with you, or when you’re just going down a really rough path.
There are five stages to grief, according to psychcentral.com. Many people know the first phase is denial, because they heard it in a movie or their friends used it …

Before Christmas break, seniors voted for an all-senior prom. Whether that happens or not (judging from past experiences, it may not), does it really matter?
In order to have an all-senior prom, the class has to make sure that they even have enough money to do so. If they don’t make the money needed, they’ll have to invite juniors anyway. What is unfair is that if that happens, juniors will get to attend a prom that they didn’t help fund-raise for. Either way, prom is going to cost a …

Relationships can hurt you physically, verbally, emotionally, and mentally. Many people hold back the causes of their relationship because they feel that they need to be with that person. If you have to ask yourself or doubt why that person is there, then they shouldn’t be.

School is one of the places you can and should be able to express yourself the most, having your true friends with you every step of the way. But how much fun can you have at school without expressing yourself? This year, crackdowns related to homecoming, Halloween, and even cell phones are making Everett feel more like a prison than a place to enjoy your high school years.
When it’s Halloween, students want to wear costumes, and when it’s summer they want to wear shorts. Clothes are a way we express …

What is your ideal vacation? Going to the beach, tanning, and swimming? Or perhaps seeing a Broadway play or a new movie? Maybe dining at a five star restaurant? It is kind of hard to do it all at once… but not if you go on a cruise.

The way some teachers talk to to students is inappropriate and sometimes just wrong. In some of situations teachers and students have gotten into big altercations . The office had suspended lots of kids or having problems with teachers, but sometimes it is not always the students fault. Teachers have their attitudes some days .
For instance teachers believe that the students show no respect. They think that students curse and have out burst for no reason, also that students talk to them like they are just another student. …

Out in front of Everett High School, there is the usual sign announcing the name of the school and sometimes important dates for events and other goings on. The sign reads ‘Everett High School, Visual and Performing Arts Magnet Academy’. That title seems to fit the school, right? But wait, a visual and performing arts magnet academy with no dance teacher, subpar arts classes, and no focus on the visual and performing arts in every day curriculum? It doesn’t sound like an arts magnet academy, and upon closer …

When the bell rings at the end of each class, students rush out the doors like a stampede of buffaloes. The hallways are filled in less than a second and you have to push just to move forward five steps. On the first day of school many returning students were surprised to see so many new students walking the halls of Everett High School. Every day, it’s a struggle to walk through the halls to get to each class because of the amount of students that are trying to …

In Everett high school lunches are one of those things that some students like, and some students don’t. It may be the taste, or how it looks. Either way, the real question is: what is in it and is it healthy? The lunches aren’t that bad if you just take the time to try it instead of just saying “I don’t like it.” There’s more to it than just saying “that’s gross” or “I’m not eating that.” It takes you actually trying it. Because it looks bad, doesn’t mean …
