Just Alice

Tim Burton strikes again with another visual masterpiece! His recreation of Lewis Carroll’s ‘Alice in Wonderland’ novels and  Clyde Geronimi’s 1951 film, helped Burton create his own fantasy/adventure version which had debuted Friday March 5th, 2010.  In the opening weekend only, the movie grossed an estimated $116 million dollars. Junior Bre-Anna Johnson is amazed by how the media portrays teenagers and she thinks that it is truly unrealistic.
“Teens on TV seem fake at times,” said Johnson. “Too much be going on, and the realness doesn’t really come out on TV shows sometimes.”

Local resident George Vannorman swayed and jerked his head to the rhythm of the live music blasting from the stage at Mac’s Bar on Friday January 22, 2010. Vannorman attended the show for the bands A Letter To You, Stereo Addiction, Hey Yo Scene Kids, and Way to Fall. The library is filled with different types of literature. Readers can immerse themselves in diverse experiences they might not otherwise encounter. In a survey of Everett students, urban fiction was by far the most popular genre, with mystery/suspense popular, as well.

Music and Learning: the debate still unresolved

Students in Ben Billings’ sociology class did a project about how students listen to music while doing work. In the survey of 100 students, 80% said they listen to music and believe it helps them focus better. Five percent said they listen to no music and the other 15% were in between.
