On Monday the boys’ Varsity and JV soccer team had their banquet. The banquet was held in the cafeteria at 5 p.m. JV coach Travon Rogers gave a speech on the ups and downs of this soccer year and what he expects from his team.
“The season was a good one, it was a successful one,” said Rogers. “I expect us to be even better next year since the majority of the players were freshman.”
Rogers handed out awards and certificates to individual players who made a great contribution to the team.

Following the JV award ceremony came the varsity ceremony. Varsity coach Cyrus Saydee was proud to say how happy he was with the team this year.

Saydee passed out a certificate to all varsity players for completing another year on varsity, or it being their first year. Most valuable player went to Antonio Lopez and Lawn Kim. The most valuable attacker went out to Abdul Jassim.

The most valuable defender went out to Antonio Lopez, and Most valuable midfielder went out to Lawn Kim. All conference players went out to Lawn Kim and Antonio Lopez.
“I felt honored for making All-Conference team, but I feel like I didn’t deserve the award,” said Lopez. “I wasn’t that happy with my performance.”
After the ceremony was finished, the players then proceeded to get their food. Money for the food was provided by the team. Crack chicken, enchiladas, and 40 boxes of pizza were served! Parents too came out to celebrate the boy’s soccer year.
