It was a victorious game on Tuesday night as the Vikings move on the the semi-finals at the Breslin. Students were waving goodbye to Hudsonville’s student section in the final seconds with the score of 63-54.
“We fought to survive another day, now we’re back at the Breslin for another chance at everyone’s dream to be a champion,” said senior JaMyrin Jackson.
Before the game Jackson told himself to stay strong and stay positive through the whole game no matter what happened.
“This could possibly be my last game so lay it all on the line,” said Jackson.
Though the start of the game was rough, the boys managed to defeat Hudsonville during over time.
“The beginning of the game we made way too many mistakes defensively, but we corrected them and fought back,” said Jackson
The student section was on its toes as the team went into overtime.
“It was intense, I was lowkey nervous at the end,” said senior Dennis Parker.
But just like the students had faith in the boys, they had faith as well.
“We had to believe in each other and our teammates and I just appreciate everybody,” said senior Markeese Reynolds.
Junior Diego Robinson said that the team goes into every game with firm belief that they will win.
The boys went to the Breslin last year but lost in the semi-finals against Saginaw Arthur Hill. They are ready to come back and win it all this year.
“It’s never easy but we’re gonna win, we’re gonna win,” said junior Nyreel Powell.
