Today is the very beginning of a very beautiful thing. A four day weekend! The administration decided to give the students, and the teachers a break Friday, and Monday happens to be Presidents Day, which means another day off. It’s a great chance to go watch all new and upcoming movies, like “How to be Single”, “Deadpool”, “Pride Prejudice and Zombies”, and “The Choice”.

All of those movies seem like a lot of fun, and go to the Lansing mall while you’re at it… oh wait. The Lansing mall has begun enforcing new rules. Every Friday and Saturday evening beginning at six, no one under the age of seventeen will be allowed in the mall without an accompanied adult twenty-one years or older. A lot of students are not happy about this change.

“I think it’s stupid. I can’t even go in the mall with my girlfriend on the only days we have free time,” said senior Joey Sanchez

Although some students are not fans of the change, others do seem to understand why the change occurred.

“That’s what some of these kids get, they go to the mall and they fight, and steal. Did they think there would be no repercussions?” said senior Hana Al-seidi

The mall is said to enforce these rules because they want to create a more family-friendly environment for everyone who comes to enjoy their evenings shopping. Looks like it’s time to start leaving school early to go shopping.
