The quiz bowl team was the talk of the school. Their win against East Lansing was more than significant; it meant that the team had defeated one of the top schools in the state.
“Every one that looked down on us, we can now show them that we can win,” said senior and team captain Benjamin Jones.
Quiz bowl is a series of games where trivia questions are asked to high school students and answered for points. Quiz bowl is recognized as a fun, interesting and exciting activity by those who enjoy it.
“I joined because its fun and it tests your brain,” said Mohamed Abukar.
According to Jones, East Lansing has always been a tough school to go up against he said. They are one of the best schools around.
“It felt amazing because we beat them,” said senior Anna Stouffer. “And even more amazing while beating them during the game.”
Although Quiz bowl is a fun way to learn, the team practices twice a week to prepare for upcoming competitions.
“We put a lot of effort into winning,” said Jones.
